South Coast Charters offers a wide range of fishing experiences located in Long Point Bay and Port Burwell, Ontario. We are a fully licensed and insured charter service operated by Captain Dean Donovan. We have many years of experience fishing the Lake Erie waters in order to be able to catch quality fish on every trip. We suit many types of anglers that may just be looking for a fun fishing experience or to gain knowledge of fishing techniques. LONG POINT BAY
Created some 6000 years ago, Long Point is a 32 km peninsula that stretches halfway across Lake Erie. Long Point is an excellent fishing location for various species of fish. Its shape and contours make it a prime location for fish to live, spawn and feed. It's among the top fisheries in all the great lakes and provides for both recreational and commercial fishing all year.
In Long Point Bay our target fish are Bass, Perch, and Pike. We fish for Pike in May, September and October as the water is cooler than the summer months. The cooler water makes it great for Pike to feed on baitfish in Long Point Bay.
Bass season opens up on the 4th Saturday of June with thousands of boats on the water for the beginning weekend. Bass are located in the inner bay until mid-late July until the waters warm up. Bass fishing can be exciting for all ages so be sure to book in the beginning of July for memories to last forever!
We also target Perch which can be found in various parts of Long Point Bay all year around.

Port Burwell is located in the central basin of Lake Erie. This section of Lake Erie provides exceptional trophy Walleye and Steelhead fishing. We begin chartering the waters off Port Burwell mid July and continue until late August.
Walleye fishing on Lake Erie is well known to produce larger fish that can get above 10lbs!! Walleye are a fun species to fish for and make a delicious meal for the whole family. We recommend Walleye fishing for all levels of anglers so don’t miss out on your chance to catch a trophy fish!
Lake Erie Steelhead is one of the most exciting species to catch when fishing in these waters. They will put up an excellent fight and will give any angler a challenge when getting behind the reel.
