SPECIAL NOTICE: South Coast Charters is currently fishing at Port Burwell for Walleye and Steelhead from August 24th until late September. Rates are $450 Monday-Thursday and $500 Friday-Sunday.
Long Point is a 32 km peninsula that stretches halfway across Lake Erie created some 6000 years ago. Long Point is an excellent fishing location for various species of fish. Its shape and contours make it a prime location for fish to live, spawn and feed. It's among the top fisheries in all the great lakes and provides for both recreational and commercial fishing all year.
Our target when fishing in Long Point Bay is Walleye, Steelhead, Bass, Perch, Pike and Lake Trout.
Walleye, Steelhead & Lake Trout fishing begins to pick up mid-late June and is prime fishing all summer until September. Long Point Bay is known as the deepest part of Lake Erie, which makes it a great spot for large fish to find cooler water as the summer heat hits the lake.
Bass season opens up on the 4th Saturday of June with 1000s of boats making it on the water for the beginning weekend. Bass are located in the inner bay until mid-late July until the waters warm up. Bass fishing can be exciting for all ages so be sure to book in the beginning of July for memories to last a life time!
We fish for Pike in May, September and October as the water is cooler than the summer months. The cooler water makes it great for Pike to feed on baitfish holding in the many bays and weedbeds of Long Point Bay.
We also target Perch which can be found in various parts of Long Point bay all year around.
Be sure to contact us today for a fishing experience to best suit your needs!
